Hey there.

I'm using Sql Server Spatial, and the one thing that's bothering me is that I can't seem to find out the specific reason why some of my geometries are invalid, using the STIsValid() method. I thought it might be a good idea to find out more about what it means to the OGC to be a valid geometry (perhaps a white paper or forum post on what the rules for the STISValid() method are), but I haven't been able to find out specifics.

Is there a document that I can reference that will explain the rules that would need to be executed in order to determine whether a geometry is valid or not?

Thanks in advance.
